Assignment 16- What's Your Secret Sauce?

· My unique human capital:

o 1. Creativity- I think outside of the box and am able to adjust to changing environments and preferences of consumers.

o 2. Determination- I do not give up on my ideas or the people I have made promises to easily which I believe will make my business successful.

o 3. Bravery- I am not afraid to stand up for what I believe in or to voice my opinions in a respectful manner when I disagree with someone.

o 4. Empathy- I put others’ emotions into consideration when it comes to choosing my course of action to ensure that everyone is satisfied in some way.

o 5. Personable skills- I am an excellent public speaker and have had a lot of experience working with people so I am able to make them feel important and communicate information to them effectively.

o 1. Interviewee- my dad Jack.



§ Aside from the obvious dad jokes at the end I would have to agree with my dad. I think he was getting along the lines that I am extremely determined which I wrote about myself prior to interviewing him. It is true that I have a strong will power and I will keep working until I achieve my goal, which I hope will help in whatever business I decide to get into.

o 2. Interviewee- my younger brother Julian

§ I really enjoyed hearing what my brother had to say. In a nutshell, he basically said that I never give up. Sometimes I think I take a little longer to bounce back from bumps in the road but it is nice to know that isn’t how everybody else sees me. I also think being able to not give up easily will help me in the future.

o 3. Interviewee- my mom Jean

§ My mom really exposed my true personality with this one. It’s funny because I don’t think of myself as a tough person but I guess that can be how I come off to people. I believe this could be seen as a good or bad thing. I am able to keep my composure and not get walked all over yet I want to make sure I am approachable and kind.

o 4. Interviewee- my best friend Addy

§ Addy had a few good things to say about me such as, I am reliable trust worthy and even confident. I would most definitely agree with the first two. However, I don’t think of myself as the most confident so to know others see me this way really makes me feel better about myself!

o 5. Interviewee- my good friend Andrea

§ I agree with Andrea that I know where to draw the line between acting professional and friendly which is definitely something that makes me stand out from others. I realized this fter Andrea had said it and not before the interview so it was nice to hear something that I agreed with after the fact.



· Reflect on the differences-



o From completing this assignment, I realized I am a little harder on myself than others and don’t see all of the good in myself that they see; which is to be expected. I think the cause of the differences seen between me and them, such as them seeing me as confident, is that others have an outside perspective and notice things that I do that I may not even pick up on. When we judge ourselves we always have a little more bias on what we can do better as compared to what others think. I think these interviews are correct about me, some attributes I had never noticed before but once they were pointed out I definitely understood where they were coming from. Going back to my list from part one I don’t think I would need to make any correction besides maybe adding certain traits such as being confident or knowing when to act professional.
