My Customer Avatar
My prototypical customer from the customer segment that I have chosen in an Undergraduate Student at the University of Florida who is majoring in some sort of engineering. My customer takes rigorous courses on campus and spends most of their time at the library or in class. Outside of class they enjoy hanging out with their friends or going out to midtown. They tend to get around by using either a bicycle, scooter, bus or just walking to campus depending on where they live. It is unlikely that my customer would use a car to get to campus because parking is so difficult. Since my typical customer is a millennial you can find them binge watching Netflix or Hulu shows on the weekends. They are either single or in relationships but not typically married or have children because of their mostly young age. Their favorite books are usually ones that they were required to read in high school or the popular series that have been around for a while such as the Hunger Games, since at this point they don’t have much fun to read for fun. They are normally between the ages of 18-23, but often feel a few years older because of the amount of responsibility they have as engineering students.
Below are the avatars that I have created for my prototypical customer:
The things I have in common with my avatar are that we are both undergraduate students studying at the University of Florida. We are also around the same age and use the same type of transportation to get to campus. I believe these are not coincidences because that is the typical profile of an undergraduate student at UF.

Hi Nicolette, I like the cartoon avatars you created. I realize it was meant to be fun and an opportunity to get to know your customers better, but I had a tough time coming up with what I felt were stereotypes of people, when we are all so diverse. I think you did a nice job of describing your prototypical customer and their general lifestyle without too narrowly defining members of a group.
ReplyDeleteHello Nicolette,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post. It was so creative! I loved how you brought your avatars to life by giving them such strong back-stories. I also like how much detail you put into making your avatars seem like actual customers! It seemed like they were real college students that you were describing. Overall, I thought that it was very creative!
Hey Nicolette,
ReplyDeleteyou did a stellar job on this assignment. one thing that you did that I wish that I would have done was make a female and a male avatar conserving that my product as well pertains to a very broad group of people in the sense of gender, and ethnicity. it seems that you have a very firm grasp on your group of customers. keep up the great work.
Hey Nicolette,
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job on this assignment. I should have created both male and female for my customer avatar too. You describe your customer avatar very well because our ideas include ourselves to be their customer since we are the ones who face those problems. Also, telling very specific detail about ourselves is easier . Overall, I love to read more about your work and wait for the solution to come true.
